Mom accused of attacking son after he defends her from attacker | Crime
(WMC-TV) – Memphis police say a mother turned on her son after he tried to defend her from a man who was beating her up Tuesday.
Officers say the boy son was outside a home in the 3500 block of Brookmeade Street when a man stopped his car and forced Tiffany Roads out of the vehicle. Police say the boy tried to help his mother when the man punched her in the face.
However, according to court records, his mother didn’t return his chivalry with kindness.
Officers say Roads threw a shoe at the boy, prompting him to run inside and lock the door. But the locked door didn’t stop Roads, according to investigators.
She was able to break the door down and choke her son for several seconds. The boy was able to break free, but Roads grabbed a kitchen knife and chased him around the yard before she was finally detained by family members.
Roads, who doesn’t have custody of her son, has been charged with aggravated assault.
