Father charged with shooting son during fight | Crime

(WMC-TV) – A father who allegedly shot his son in February is finally behind bars, according to Memphis police.

Victor Boyd was having a drunken argument with his son’s uncle inside a home in the 4400 block of Ryan when his son was injured, according to court records.

Witnesses told police Boyd’s pistol went off as he tried to retrieve it from his jacket pocket. The bullet struck his 13-year-old son, Victor Boyd, Jr., in the ankle, according to police.

Boyd left the scene, and was on the run until his arrest Monday

The 31-year-old has been charged with reckless endangerment.
