Returning to crime scene lands accused buttocks shooter in jail | Crime
(WMC-TV) – Returning to the scene of a crime landed an accused gunman behind bars Tuesday, according to Memphis police.
Investigators say Cedric Taylor and an accomplice robbed and shot a woman at the intersection of Jackson and Orchi on June 20.
The men demanded the woman’s purse, but she refused and a struggle ensued, according to court records. The men eventually got the purse from the victim who tried to run away, investigators said. However, according to police, she was shot once in the buttocks as she tried to flee.
A woman who witnessed the shooting happened to be at the same intersection June 26, when according to officers, Taylor approached her. The woman told police she recognized him as the gunman from the shooting and he was arrested a short time later.
Police say the pistol used in the shooting was reported stolen from a Germantown home.
Taylor has been charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon.
