Elderly man targeted by scam artists | Crime

(WMC-TV) – Police say two crooks are on the run after an elderly man fell victim to their scam.

One of the men told the victim he needed $1,000 to help get an inheritance. In return for his help, the conman said the victim would receive $10,000.

The victim took the men to the Regions Bank at 3061 Covington Pike and withdrew the cash, according to officers.

Investigators say the victim handed the cash over and hasn’t heard from either man since.
