Alert witness helps police catch accused crooks

(WMC-TV) - A witness' keen eye helped police track down three men who are accused of stealing a strange collection of items from a woman's home this week.

Police say Jermel Clark, Lorenzo Caldwell and Frank Williams stole televisions, a computer, rolls of coins, jewelry and a blood pressure monitor from a home in the 4300 block of Sequoia Monday.

A witness told police he saw the men leaving the woman's home and getting into a green SUV that didn't have license plate. Thanks to his description of the vehicle, investigators tracked the men down a short time later.

Inside the vehicle, police found jewelry, coins, a computer and the blood pressure monitor that were stolen, according to court records. Police say the men later admitted to the burglary and investigators found more of the stolen items at one of their homes in the 900 block of Bramblewood.

All 3 men have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
