A Memphis man is accused of trading groceries and gifts for sex with a minor over the course of the past three years.

Albert Barnes, 47, is in the Shelby County Jail facing one criminal count of rape of a child.

Investigators say he started having sex with a 12-year-old girl back in March 2010 and carried on the relationship until April 2012.

According to an affidavit of complaint, Barnes gave her money, groceries, and other gifts in exchange for sex.

Bond has been set at $100,000.
