(WMC-TV) – Two men are accused of robbing people they found on Craigslist by posing as customers.
A man placed a set of speakers for sale on Craigslist. He received a call from a man who claimed he was interested in buying them. The two set up a time to meet in Raleigh.
The victim showed up with two of his friends and showed the man, and two of his friends, the speakers he was trying to sell.
During the meeting, police say the three “customers” pulled out guns and demanded that the three victims turn over their cell phones, cash, and other property.
The suspects then fired shots as they fled the scene.
Detectives were able to develop Dequareio Strickland and Deunte Berry as suspects. The victims positively identified the two men in a photo lineup.
Strickland and Berry are each charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.
