Naturalization Ceremony at Memphis Public Library and Information center | Events
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services will host a Naturalization Ceremony on Friday, January 27, 2012. The Naturalization ceremony will take place in the meeting rooms on the first floor of the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library 3030 Poplar Avenue.
There will be two ceremonies with approximately two hundred and eighty naturalization candidates. The first ceremony will begin at 11 am and the second ceremony will follow at 1 pm. Keenon McCloy, Director of Libraries, will be one of the guest speakers during the second ceremony.
Wang-Ying Glasgow, Adult Services Coordinator, for the Memphis Public Library and Information Center says, “As an adult services coordinator I help coordinate all kinds of programs and services in our library system. Assisting and hosting a naturalization ceremony is one of the events that is very special and meaningful to me since I myself am a naturalized citizen. Candidates are coming from all corners of the world; this will be one of the most important days in their lives. A day they have dreamed for a long time and a moment that signifies a new beginning in their lives.”
