Local group wants to help felons

(WMC-TV) - With the presidential election closing in, there are many people registering to vote and there are others who wish they had the right to cast a ballot.

However, some may not know that Tennessee has programs to help restore voting rights to convicted felons.

LifeLine to Success is an organization that is committed to helping to recover the rights of those who may have lost their voting privilege. LifeLine and its community partners, Frayser Exchange and Frayser CDC will help citizens check their voter registration status and  register eligible citizens to vote.

According to the group there are many convicted felons who are eligible to vote, but they may not know it.

Convicted felons that would like to know their voting status can visit the Lifeline office, 1647 Dellwood Ave., and they will assist them in the process at no charge.
